How do you survive on an island with 10 women!? With a destination as beautiful as Ibiza, it’s easy. To escape just a little bit from work, pressure, obligations, problems among other things, we exchanged the autumn weather in Holland for a sunny and warm Ibiza. I didn’t have much time to explore the island in the Mediterranean sea, but I wanted to see as much as possible! So how did I spent 5 days on Ibiza?
We took the red-eye flight on Monday morning from Amsterdam and only 3 hours later we arrived at our destination. The views from the plane were incredibly beautiful.
We picked up our two rental cars at the airport and drove off to our private villa!
Our villa was marvelous, more than I ever expected! It was huge, very secluded and look at our private pool?! The first day we relaxed in our garden, soaking up the sun. We talked and laughed so much the first day. Thinking about it now makes me want to go back and appreciate it even more.
The sunset view from our terrace is amazingly beautiful. In the distance, you can see the harbor of Ibiza town. After a day at the pool, we decided to dress up and head into town to find a nice restaurant to have dinner.
How can you not wake up with a smile when there are white cabanas in your backyard?
On the second day, we placed a visit to old Ibiza town. This town has some beautiful historical buildings. I can really enjoy some great architecture. We drank some delicious coffee and indulged on a brownie at the cafe you can see in the picture.
On my way to the Castell de Eivissa.
We took some pictures at this idyllic front porch in Eivissa town. All the girls took their turns, it was like a mini photo shoot, haha.
Gorgeous blue hues.
Around lunchtime, we decided to drive to a cliff to get a great view of the mythical Es Vedrà. This rocky uninhabited island is known for many myths and legends, one of them is being it a special magnetic place.
We brought so many food and fruits and arranged a little picnic here.
This is also where we took our iconic group pictures!
After some sightseeing, we were headed to Sa Trinxa, a beach club on the beach of Ses Salines. We ordered a bunch of coronas and some carafes of sangria. It was so delightful, feeling the sun on our skin, listening to music, smelling the ocean, having some drinks… How beautiful can life be?
We stayed at the beach until sunset, ordered some more sangria and then headed home. We cooked pasta at our villa that evening and stayed in for the night.
After a breakfast on our sunny terrace, we visited the hippy market! There’s so much to browse and to buy there, I bought some colorful bracelets. Most of us weren’t in the mood for shopping really –
wait, what!? – we wanted to see as much as we could in those 5 days so we took off to our next destination…
Which was Sluiz, a concept store in Santa Gertrudis, where you can find the most beautiful, crazy and amazing things for your interior, wardrobe or soul. I saw so many great items to fill up our yet-to-be-decorated-home with.
We also had lunch at Sluiz, I ordered the spicy shrimp salad. Definitely recommendable!
Taking a bar shift at Sluiz. I’m just kidding. Ambers boyfriend and mine were having their birthdays while we were on vacation. So we took this picture to sent them as a birthday card!
After our delicious lunch at Sluiz, some of the girls headed home to lay by the pool. And some, including moi, wanted to relax on the beach for a little while. We drove to Sant Joan de Labritja to spend our afternoon at the beach.
Later that evening, we organized a hamburger party –
because food is life – on our terrace while we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset over Eivissa.
On our last full day, most of the gals wanted to visit the beautiful beaches of Formentera. Amber, Marleen and I had different plans. We started our day in San Antonio, we enjoyed a delicious latte macchiato in the sun at café Mambo.
Marleen and I looking at the ocean views. We picked up some fro-yo, something Amber had been talking about the whole trip. It was so yummy! And who dropped her cup of fro-yo in the car……? Yup, me. And I was saving the chocolates for last! 🙁
We decided it was time for some luxury and drove to Club Tropicana, we rented some beds and stayed there for the rest of the afternoon.
To make it extra fancy we ordered lunch on the beach. I guess this is what lunch in heaven looks like.
After our delightful day, we dressed up and had dinner at Bambuddha. It’s a MediterrAsian restaurant in a sultry, sumptuous setting amidst ancient erotic artifacts. The prizes are a bit higher than a usual restaurant but believe me, the food is exquisite. I haven’t eaten that great in a very long time.
We ordered dumplings, sushi, curry and the cherry on top: a dessert to share. It came with a very naughty name: group orgasm. It was a delicious way to end a wonderful day.
Our last day! Amber, Marleen and I took a flight earlier back to Amsterdam than the rest of the girls. So we enjoyed our last lunch at beach club Rehab. Arent’ you getting hungry from all the food pics? It was soooo good. I had salmon, cream cheese, toast, avocado and baked eggs.
Even though we were all headed home that day, we kept on smiling! I have had such an amazing holiday with all of these girls. And when I got home I missed each of their presence. Which is beyond unique, because when I got on the plane on Monday I saw 8 of these girls only for the second time. It was a deeply special experience for me and I will cherish it forever. We talked, laughed, cried and celebrated life together during these 5 days on Ibiza and I truly hope we will go on another trip in 2018.
Have you ever been to Ibiza? What are your hotspots? Or have you ever been on an all-girls trip?
